National Trust property Cotehele House and gardens (6 miles away). This is an atmospheric Tudor House, with a mill on a historic quay on the Tamar River. Beautiful garden and estate to explore.
Privately owned Pentille Castle and gardens is 8 miles away. You can visit on selected dates for open gardens and outdoor theatre productions.
Morwellham Quay. ( 9 miles away toward Tavistock). A historic copper ore port, village and copper mine bordering the River Tamar. Offers a living history guided tour where you can dress up like a Victorian.
National Trust Saltram House (19 miles away in Plymouth). Georgian House and lovely grounds.
National Trust Lanhydrock (27 miles, near Bodmin) An elegant 19th century stately home with scenic parkland and bike trails.
Kit Hill Country Park is 2.5 miles away with wonderful 360’ panoramic views towards Plymouth and south coast of Devon and Cornwall. It is a great place for dog walking and enjoying the views.
Bodmin Moor is just 20-30 minutes drive away
Dartmoor National Park is about 30/35 minutes away. Both moors have fabulous walks and scenery.
Tamar Trails in Gulworthy (6.5 miles away) is great for walking, cycling, archery, running and tree surfing – take your pick!
St Mellion Estate (6 miles away) is an International golf and leisure resort which offers two golf courses, spa, swimming pool, sauna and gym. Day memberships are available if you want to treat yourself.
The nearest local pub we recommend is 16th century Royal Inn at Horsebridge ( 3 miles).
